Jenn:

Tay:

Some villains. Yes. Love it. Alright. So Friends.

Tay:

I am I am Tay. Who are you?

Jenn:

I'm Jennifer. Oh, hello, Jennifer. Hello.

Tay:

I love the, new Accenture Mount on your headset there, your little horns. I love them so much. I love them so much.

Jenn:

I feel like they fit my personality. They're like Maleficent horns.

Tay:

Right? They're amazing, and they so fit you. That's amazing.

Jenn:

Had to had to keep it spicy. I need some horns, and the double ones have been due. So I was like, Maleficent it is.

Tay:

I love it. Yes.

Jenn:

So, friends, as Tay said, welcome to the Queens of Nerndham. I know that we have been gone for a spell. We had some other projects going on. So sorry that, you have been neglected, but we are going to be paying extra attention to our peoples from here on out. We promise.

Jenn:

Okay? Yeah. And just to recap a little bit what, Tay and I are about is, I don't really care how nerdy you think you are, whether you're like a super nerd or not so nerdy. Just come hang out with us. I don't know everything.

Jenn:

A lot of things we prepared advance and tried to bring you information.

Tay:

But that doesn't mean we didn't want everything. Right. Exactly. No. Just love your comments.

Tay:

We love them so much. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah.

Jenn:

Well, comments are always welcome and always love the interaction with you guys because we always have a blast doing it. So without further ado

Tay:

You ready for our intro?

Jenn:

Girl, yes. Girl, yes. Play the intro.

Tay:

Okay. I'm a play it. Alright. Well, welcome everybody. Oh my god.

Tay:

That was so cool. It was so great. Can we

Jenn:

can we play it again?

Tay:

Next episode. Next episode, I got you. Okay. I probably alright. I got you.

Tay:

I got you. Luke. Thank you. I see that we got Amanda. We got, EJ in black in the comments.

Tay:

Thank you guys so much for tapping in. Usi. You. Hello. See you.

Tay:

Hello, everybody. Hi, Katie. So we come to the, DFPN standard now. You ready?

Jenn:

Go. Yes.

Tay:

Shaps.

Jenn:

Shaps through the

Tay:

heart. Oh, yeah. That one too.

Jenn:

Oh, that that one. Sorry.

Tay:

That's not where I was going with it, but, yeah. Sure.

Jenn:

Sorry.

Tay:

Yeah. Actually, we do have new inks black, and we will be getting into that in a second. A little nonstandard. We'll be talking about that in a second. So, to go into our shots, I will be taking a shot, in my Arizona shot glass because I'm back from Arizona as of, like, a couple of hours ago, 3 hours ago to be exact.

Tay:

And I will be taking a shot of Ciroc passion fruit.

Jenn:

Oh, I've never seen a passion fruit.

Tay:

I can show you, like, the bottle later after this. I'll I'll I'll send you a DM.

Jenn:

Okay. DM me, girl. DM me.

Tay:

I got you.

Jenn:

I got the Ciroc summer citrus.

Tay:

Oh, okay.

Jenn:

I don't know. I couldn't find the peach one that, Willie kept talking about. So Eric's like, I found the summer citrus. I was like, oh.

Tay:

Summer citrus is also good, though. Syrah does just doesn't go wrong, like, anything syrup, really. I agree. So this shot will be to the continued growth, with DFPN, as well as our Queen's Facebook group, that is officially official. And we have, like, over a 100 people now on that, and that's awesome.

Tay:

So to continuing the growth and the awesomeness that we, have, Cheers. Cheers. Bless you, I think. I'm not sure what that was.

Jenn:

Girl, I was afraid I was gonna sneeze when I took that shot. I'm like, not right now is not a good time.

Tay:

You know you can sneeze. I mean, it

Jenn:

it was being stubborn. I just wanted to stay in there and say, oh, fine. You do that. You do that sneeze.

Tay:

I, Eric, I do not know how to do said diddy dance. I can do a little jig though when I do, like, having the Ciroc just, like, go down my belly. So, I'll do that for you. Alright. Well, a little nonstandard, as Blaque has, talked about.

Tay:

We are actually gonna talk about tattoo art because, your girl got a new tattoo, as you can see, and she's beautiful. And I need a second to just gush about my tattoo. So

Jenn:

gush. Please.

Tay:

So I did originally just have my sunflower tattoo here and then my moonflower, which is like a, it's a rose. I originally got the rose, and then I was like, oh, if it's a moonflower, I gotta have a sunflower on the other side. And then that's what brought me into the, tattoo that I now have very much going down, my arm. And what it is is, she is Aphrodite, So the Greek goddess of beauty. But she's a little bit different.

Tay:

I don't know if you guys can see, but she's got, like, black tears coming from her eyes right here. Got it. And it's kind of like a So beautiful. Thank you. It's a, damaged beauty type, just something that I I really liked.

Tay:

I saw an art piece for it, but I wanted to kinda keep it to go also with the tattoos that I have here. So I have outlines of what will eventually be filled in. It's very light outlines here, and they're going to be, the cherry blossoms. I'm gonna have those in color. So I'm gonna have this black and gray realism tattoo that isn't quite finished yet.

Tay:

As you can see, like, her hair is gonna continue here and then go into the, cherry blossoms that are going into the pit. Unfortunately. It's it's gonna hurt, but, it's a good

Jenn:

hurt. Trenches.

Tay:

Yes. It's gonna tickle a little bit. Yeah.

Jenn:

Focus on the goal. Focus on the goal.

Tay:

Gotta focus on that goal. I did for this. This was, like, an, an 8 hour tattoo. So I'm I'm ready for her to get finished up. And then, hopefully, she'll be finished up, for the next time that we have our podcast in December.

Jenn:

Heck yeah.

Tay:

I look forward to seeing

Jenn:

it, so we'll have to have a no. You should. I think it looks beautiful. I love it.

Tay:

Thank you. And I do see that you, you have a little shiny shine on your shoulder. What is that?

Jenn:

I do. You know, you can't see it really well because of the sanaderm on there, but, I gotten some tattoos of my favorite books by Sarah j Moss. If you guys aren't familiar with them, you definitely should read them. It's, a Crown of Throne and Roses series and then the Throne of Glass. Haven't gotten anything for Crescent City yet, but, and they are going to be having a show on Hulu in the future.

Jenn:

Hopefully, they don't mess it up.

Tay:

Okay. Don't

Jenn:

mess it up, please.

Tay:

Never ever. Anyways.

Jenn:

Anyways, I'd gotten, like, the mountains that are supposed to be in the the night court, and I just went to go get it finished, and they're like, hey, we could fix that up for you. And I was like, what do you mean fix it up? Oh, no. We try to go for real girl, I was like, what do you mean fix it up? What's wrong with my mountain?

Jenn:

They're like, oh, yeah. We could fix it up and do that. I was like, okay. Sure. I was just gonna finish the rest of this.

Jenn:

So, yeah, I, I got done at, like, 5 30, 6 o'clock today, and, oh my gosh, this guy freehanded my stuff, and it looks so real. And he he just worked with what was already on my arm. And I'm like, I am so stoked. I I wish I could show you guys, but the Sanaderm, like, kinda makes it really shiny, but it looks looks awesome. Like

Tay:

I can't wait for yours to get finished because I did see a photo that you shot into the group, and it looks beautiful. The the colors just themselves are beautiful, and they tick really well to your, somewhat pale, you know, skin.

Jenn:

It's true. But it it looks more like a night sky, and then the mountains look more real. And soon there's gonna be like a city and wrap around my arm. I'm Gonna go into the trenches like you. So Yeah.

Tay:

Oh, it's gonna wrap? Is it so is it gonna touch your elbow? Oh, no. You you got this. Girl, remember remember the end goal?

Tay:

The end goal is there.

Jenn:

End goal. TTP, trust process. Trust process.

Tay:

Gotta trust that process.

Jenn:

Yeah. Yeah. Adi, mine mine's fresh fresh. So I'm I'm very much welcome that shot that we just took. It comes just like a shot is good.

Jenn:

We should have the shot. Yes, please.

Tay:

So my arm's on fire. You do have, like, more to drink, though. Right? So, like, you can continue to drink throughout the episode? Yeah.

Tay:

Okay.

Jenn:

Of course.

Tay:

Okay.

Jenn:

I have more drinks.

Tay:

Okay. So, to actually go into our episode now that we have talked about our beautiful art, that is both, I think is it on your left shoulder or your right shoulder?

Jenn:

My left one.

Tay:

Okay. So, yeah, we're both rocking oh, yeah. Because it's on the same side. Yeah. Yep.

Tay:

Big brain moves over here.

Jenn:

We

Tay:

both have our left shoulders,

Jenn:

which is cameras.

Tay:

I had to think about it. I'm sorry. No. You're fine. Go But It's going to our, first villain.

Tay:

I'm gonna go ahead and start with mine first. And, the one that I wanna talk about was Bellatrix Bella Lestrange. So I wanna talk to about her as my first villain. So she was born in 1951 and then, subsequently has now passed away, died in 1998. She is a pureblood.

Tay:

She's the cousin of Sirius Black, so the black family tree that you see, in Harry Potter. And then, she's also the sister of Narcissa Malfoy, so, Draco Malfoy's mom, as well as, Nymphadora Tonk Tonks, her mom. So she's, there are 3 of them. So pretty much right off the bat, they her entire family is very much about, like, pure bloods, and they disown Tonks, because she marries to a muggle. So when Nymphadora was born, they were, like, exiled from the family, just because she is the half blood.

Tay:

So, to continue going, she went to Hogwarts in the early sixties. Clearly, she got put into the, Slytherin, house. She tortured, after she was done with her going to Hogwarts, she very quickly, was on the side of Voldemort and being a death eater. She then, tortured, Alice Longbottom, who is Neville Longbottom's mom, with the cruciatus curse. Right?

Tay:

She was actually caught at that point in time and sentenced to Azkaban, to which she actually escaped. No. She's not Nymphadora's mom. She's the sister of

Jenn:

Her auntie.

Tay:

Nymphadora's mom. So she's actually the aunt of, Nymphadora. She actually yes. She was killed very righteously, and we will talk about that. So she killed Nymphadora Tonks.

Tay:

She doesn't like being called Nymphadora as you can very much remember in, I can't remember which Harry Potter that was, but she, like her hair, like, turned into, like, a different color and was just like, don't call me Nymphadora. But, anyway, which one was that?

Jenn:

Like, I think it was right before the I think that was right before the battle of this, like, 7 Harry's.

Tay:

It's 5. I think.

Jenn:

It's 5? Is it Matt Eye Moody caller? Okay. The

Tay:

Yeah.

Jenn:

That's where The order the order of

Tay:

the phoenix? Is that that's the one that's yeah. Yeah. That makes sense.

Jenn:

Yeah. Because MetEye MetEye Moody called her Nymphadora.

Tay:

At the the table with all of the, the rebels, if you will.

Jenn:

Yeah. The order

Tay:

of the Phoenix. Senior fedora. Yeah. Hey. I see I see Mikoya commenting.

Tay:

He said, what's up? Just say, oh. Hello. Just, you know, doing our thing. Took our shot.

Tay:

So if you haven't taken your shot yet, you should take your shot. So she killed not only Nymphadora, but she also killed, Sirius Black. As you remember, the I killed Sirius Black, and she's, like, running through, the the Ministry of Magic, like, chanting that because she was very happy about that. And then she also killed Dobby. Sad face.

Jenn:

Never forgive her for that. Yeah. Dude, never forgive her for that.

Tay:

Yeah. She was, killed in a duel by, Molly Weasley, because Molly actually tried to kill her daughter, Ginny, her one and only daughter. And she said, not, not my daughter, you bitch. Just straight up, like, made a bop

Jenn:

Too rude.

Tay:

McCoy, what does that mean? What does that mean?

Jenn:

Popped up

Tay:

in my head. What's a bop out? What is that?

Jenn:

We're not sure.

Tay:

Oh, boop. McCoy, I'm a need you to

Jenn:

She bit she beepity boopity booped her.

Tay:

That's where exactly where my burn went, but I wasn't sure if that's, like, where it should be going. So I need I need info.

Jenn:

So have you ever have you ever watched a TikTok about that, Jewel?

Tay:

No. Because I don't I don't watch the TikTok of Toks. So, do enlighten.

Jenn:

So so there is an argument about that duel that, missus Weasley had with, Bellatrix is that she actually used, like, an ancient magic to kill her, and you can see it by the the color. I think it's orange. I wanna say so you correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's orange and every time they cast something, you know, in Harry Potter, like, the colors mean something. Think that's why how they knew those, like an ancient magic. The miss Weasley, like, oh, hell no.

Jenn:

Not my daughter. I'll use this old shit on you and just bam.

Tay:

I love that. And I do love that we are bringing in the colors. Hey, Kately. What up, dude? Kately.

Tay:

To the, to the chat. But, no, I didn't I didn't know that it was orange. I totally thought it was green, because I thought that she did it. But it was also nonverbal magic because she Right. Didn't say the thing, and she actually cast it, which means that she's quite powerful.

Tay:

Right. It it takes, like, a while for her for some stuff. Yeah. It takes it takes a good while for people to, actually do that, to learn the nonverbal magics. But before she actually died, there the the last book that just came out, they kind of hinted, kind of weird, but they kinda hinted that she gave birth, to her soul error being, Delphine.

Tay:

And this, she so she is married, to some dude whose names that I cannot remember, but that's how she got her, Lestrange last name. But never really loved him, because she's only in love with 1 dude. I'll give you one guess. Who is it? Who is she in love with?

Tay:

Who is it?

Jenn:

Baltimore.

Tay:

Yes. Yes. Really? It's Voldemort, her one and true only love.

Jenn:

I was waiting.

Tay:

Baltimore. There we go. Yes. Yeah. Black.

Tay:

It is Voldemort.

Jenn:

That's like a codependent thing, though.

Tay:

They're Codependency. Sorry. It's so fluffy. No. That's just creepy.

Tay:

So, this sole this one and only error error that she has is actually Voldemort's. So Delphine was, born out of, like, well, box. Super, like, not supposed to be a thing. He should not be named. Yes.

Tay:

That's his other name. Thank you, Troy, for bringing that up. It's very yes. It's very much is a Harley Quinn and Joker relationship. It's toxic as fuck.

Jenn:

But anyway Seriously.

Tay:

So she has this daughter. And my one question, because we don't see any photos or anything of this, child. I just wanna know, does she have a nose? That's all I'm asking. I just need I need some mock up art of her with a nose and her without a nose so I can know, does she have a nose and see which one looks more realistic.

Jenn:

No nose.

Tay:

The look of, like, I don't I'm gonna say

Jenn:

no nose.

Tay:

No nose? Just the the weird nostril a little? Okay.

Jenn:

The skin bumps. Yeah. She's not really into body aches and stuff

Tay:

like that. Into, like, in the first Harry Potter. Right? The Philosopher's Stone. Like, you saw that Voldemort had a nose, but then after that, they took off his nose.

Tay:

So, I have questions. Right? Maybe when he was reincarnated, he lost his nose.

Jenn:

But, anyway ran out of Mojo, and he's like, fuck the nose.

Tay:

I don't need this nose anyway. I can still smell.

Jenn:

Yeah. Yeah. Nose. Nose. Nose.

Jenn:

The nose nose gonna bounce. What?

Tay:

Oh my god. So she has a few skills. She's very good in the dark arts, dueling, nonverbal magic as well as well as, like, flying. She can fly with a broomstick, not the apparition, like, type flying. Although she does do apparition as well.

Tay:

His face is incomplete to upload the the nose

Jenn:

hardware. What

Tay:

did Mark say?

Jenn:

He ran out of Mojo. He's like it's some kind of lair.

Tay:

Where? Where is the lair?

Jenn:

Knows where.

Tay:

So she her original wand was a 12 and 3 fourths one that was made out of walnut wood, with a dragon heartstring, core. However, this wand was taken by Hermione. If we all remember in the Deathly Hallows, she took that goddamn

Jenn:

your shit.

Tay:

She stole that shit. Your shit. And it's it's very it's very much noticeable, the type of, wand that she has because it's got that weird, like, crookedness to it, as I mentioned with my finger.

Jenn:

She's in a she's in a crooked wood. That's why she likes Voldemort. Stop it.

Tay:

Oh my god, Jen.

Jenn:

It's a saying. He had

Tay:

a Christmas

Jenn:

wand.

Tay:

She did eventually get another wand, but there's nothing really quite famous or great about it, which is probably why another reason why she probably lost that duel is because she just didn't have her wand. Hermione did end up, like, getting rid of that wand because she's, like, it was cursed, with the amount of dark magic that has on it. Like, so so she just got rid of the horn. So the infamous actress that plays Bellatrix Lestrange is Helena Beaumont Carter. Woo hoo.

Tay:

Love that. A couple of fun facts that, a couple of fun facts that I actually wrote about Bellatrix that I wanted to talk about here was that, she improvves, like, a couple of scenes. And one of these scenes is when she's torturing Neville. She actually sticks her wand into his ear. Oh.

Tay:

She is a queen. Yes. Yes, McCoy. She is a queen. So, yeah, she sticks her wand into Neville's ear.

Tay:

And when, she does this, she actually like, he wasn't expecting it. So he, like, turns because, like, who wants to have stuff just thrown there in their ear without them knowing. Right? So he turns and actually burst his eardrum. So he was actually injured in this, act.

Tay:

Yeah. Yeah. Hi, buddy. That's so funny. Man.

Tay:

Bellatrix actually like, there's two reasons why she got the name Bellatrix. She does have some great roles. That is true. Excuse me. One of which, like, I love Helena Bowman Carter for Sweeney Todd.

Tay:

I love musicals, and she played the hell out of that role. Goddamn. I love that movie. So, damn, even in real life, Neville had it rough. He did.

Jenn:

He did, man. Dude, poor guy. He can't catch a bird.

Tay:

So, like, one of the main reasons why she was called Bellatrix, was because it's actually Latin for female warrior. And then the yes? I like it.

Jenn:

I didn't know that.

Tay:

Sorry. Yeah. No. You're you're all good. And then another reason why Bellatrix got her name is because there's actually a star in Orion, the constellation of Orion, that is actually a Bellatrix star.

Tay:

It's one of the 7 bright stars. Ah. The more you know.

Jenn:

I like that. Okay.

Tay:

The actress that played Narcissa Malfoy actually originally was cast for Bellatrix, but then they found Helena Bowman Carter, and they were like, well, she definitely fits that, like, weirdness of Bellatrix. So they still wanted She's definitely our weirdo. Yeah. And we love her for that. Beetle guys.

Tay:

She was

Jenn:

in the Absolutely. Was she in Beetle guys? No. That's another star in Orion.

Tay:

Oh, yeah. Because I did talk about that. Dude, I totally forgot about that. I did talk about the Orion, and Beetlejuice was one of the stars, and that's how they got okay. Yep.

Tay:

That's back to a USDN episode. That was all hallows eve part 1. So if you guys haven't checked that out, it's it's a good episode. It's out there in all of the streaming. Yeah.

Tay:

Nice. Alright. Alright, Kaitley. I see you. And she has natural crazy eyes.

Tay:

She does. She does have the natural crazy eyes. So, other than that, the one last, fun fact that I wanted to talk about before we get Jen into her first, villain is that, Helena Bowman Carter, also improvised the mudblood torture scene on Hermione, like, on her skin. And she was, like, so like, she was, like, in character, but as soon as the scene was done, she was, like, terrified that, like, her and Hermione were no longer, like, gelling as, like, actresses, that she immediately went over. And she's like, dude, are you okay?

Tay:

Like, I'm so sorry. Like, that got intense. Like,

Jenn:

you cool? Yeah.

Tay:

And, like, Hermione's like, yeah, dude. We're we're fine. Like, that was brilliant.

Jenn:

We're gravy.

Tay:

Yeah.

Jenn:

Yeah. We're gravy.

Tay:

So, like, even, Hermione, like, love that shit. But, anyway, that's Bellatrix.

Jenn:

I loved it. You know, I I love the part where they had Helena Putnam Carter act out that scene where she's going into the, the vaults at Gremelotts. Mhmm. So, Emma Watson could go in and basically, like, mimic her. So she would act the way like, she would act did you ever read about that?

Jenn:

No. So what happened well, so you know when, Hermione takes a Polydeuce and then she's got, like, Bellatrix's wand, And they're trying to go in there to get into Bellatrix's vault.

Tay:

Yeah. Yeah. And she's just like,

Jenn:

excuse me. Excuse and so that was actually, no. I have it backwards. Emma Watson went in and acted it out. And so Helena Carter, like, went in behind her and acted like Emma Watson acting like Bellatrix Lestrange during that whole scene.

Jenn:

It was just actually genius. It's just absolutely genius. Yeah. I I love how you see that, like, behind the scenes with, her and the other cast members because you would think there's animosity there, but she genuinely, like, loved those kids. You know, she's always, like, checking in with them.

Jenn:

Like, anytime I see him, you see her, like, hugging on Daniel Radcliffe's neck and just I I love that, like,

Tay:

it's it's itself. That cast was just an amazing cast, and they all gelled, like, really well.

Jenn:

Really was. He really did. I loved it. Like, it's great. Love that character.

Jenn:

Love that actress, man. She's, like, one of those where I'm, like, if she's in it, I'm, like, oh, I'm

Tay:

gonna watch it. She's in it. Mhmm.

Jenn:

You know that.

Tay:

She's gonna be good. Yeah. Just like, Max and then if the cast gets along. Yeah. The movie is just 100% better.

Tay:

Like, 100%. Which is why I love that, like, Jennifer Lawrence anytime she has a kissing cuisine, she, like, eats, like, the most god awful things, before she does it. Like, that's amazing. And that's what I would do.

Jenn:

Hell, yeah. Girl, I would. I'd troll them. Like, I just had tuna.

Tay:

You wanna come taste this tuna?

Jenn:

I know. Some extra onions. Do you like onions?

Tay:

You like garlic? I got some of that too.

Jenn:

I put it I got some got some garlic for you. Alright. So my first baddie that I picked You know, this particular baddie was actually Stephen King actually commented that he thought this character was actually terrifying. What? Stephen King, our our daddio of horror, thought professor Umbridge.

Tay:

You call him daddio?

Jenn:

Absolutely terrifying. Dolores? Daddy o oh, boy. Stop it. Yeah.

Jenn:

Del Dolores. Dolores. So I was actually shocked that she's born in 1961. That's weird. Bellatrix?

Jenn:

Okay. I know. Bellatrix looks strange, man. She's using, like, some chemical face peels or I don't know. Ask a man agrees with her.

Jenn:

She looks way better than professor Umbridge. Just saying. Yeah. That's what Kaylee, that's what I said. You scared Stephen King, you're doing something right.

Jenn:

Seriously. You scared that man? Going down the history books.

Tay:

Papas cariums. Papa there

Jenn:

you go. He is. He's Papas cariums. He scared him, man. It's like so believe it or not, professor Umbridge is actually half blood.

Jenn:

What? I was actually shocked. I thought she was pure blood. Yeah.

Tay:

She acts like a pure blood.

Jenn:

Girl, yes. She's so stuck up. So her dad was a wizard, and her mom was a muggle. She, came from, or she got sorted into Slytherin when she went to

Tay:

school. What? Shocks.

Jenn:

And what? Say what? I know. I I would think, like, as much as she like pink. I don't know.

Jenn:

You think she's like green with slither. Anyways, her wand is an 8 inch birch with dragon heartstring.

Tay:

Oh.

Jenn:

Now you guys I want you guys to pay attention to the wand stuff, because that will be revisited. So now we can see that Bellatrix R'estrange and Dolores Umbridge both had dragon heartstrings at the core of their wand.

Tay:

They did.

Jenn:

They just self remember that. K? They did. So, because of her hatred of half breeds, she actually drafted a lot of, like, anti werewolf flaws, where it made it almost impossible for people like Remus Lupin, to actually get a job. But it actually made it easier for Voldemort to recruit half breeds, like werewolves, to his cause.

Jenn:

I know. She's kinda dumb. She she didn't really think that one through.

Tay:

She thought it through for the sake of herself. She only looks out for herself.

Jenn:

Basically. Like, she didn't think about what it would have, like, credit the opposition. But Right. Yeah. So I'm sure she wasn't very happy when Remus Lupin was actually, teaching and fencing against the dark arts because, yeah, he's blood.

Jenn:

I know dirty mudbloods. Don't say that. That's like saying a really bad word. Okay.

Tay:

Alright. I see you, Pablo. Alright.

Jenn:

So, so she became, I know. Pablo's like throwing out all his dirty words. So she became head of the office of improper use of magic before even reaching the age of the tender age of 30. And then this is where she actually started lying about her family history, claiming that she was a pure blood rather than a half blood.

Tay:

Because of the law. Right. I've taken it too dark place, but you know

Jenn:

Yeah. What you know who this made me think of? I'm taking it really dark here. It made me think of Hitler.

Tay:

Oh my god. Okay.

Jenn:

Because he's part I did. I took you to a dark place. Let me turn out the lights and make it creepy. Because, I mean, cassowary is part Jewish. Right?

Jenn:

And he absolutely hated Jews. She is, you know, basically, you know, she's not a pure blood, but she's all for pure bloods. But, yeah, Slippery slope. So I didn't know this. I was always suspicious of it, but, I I failed to forget from the books that she was actually the person who sent those 2 dementors to attack Harry Potter.

Tay:

Now Oh, is this, like, like, that tunnel thing and that made Harry, like, use the expecto patronum? Okay. Okay.

Jenn:

Yeah. So the way she looked at it was either outcome is gonna be good. Either Harry was gonna get killed, or he was gonna have to use this Patronus charm to defend himself, which would make him basically be expelled from school. So either would work in her favor. But she I'm sure she didn't count on professor Dumbledore coming to his rescue and defending him.

Jenn:

Now, what kinda clues you into this is during those proceedings, she says I don't know if I can act like her because she's just so fucking evil. Oh, I'm sure I

Tay:

misheard you.

Jenn:

See me. And she basically goes on to say, you know, Dumbledore, did you actually, like, suggest that somebody in the ministry of magic ordered an attack on this boy. So this actually shows that Dumbledore is already onto her. He's like, I'm already onto you, which in a good way. I have all of my eyes Girl.

Tay:

Looking at you.

Jenn:

Well, it made sense. She's already on

Tay:

to him. Right.

Jenn:

Now fast forward a little bit. She becomes the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. K?

Tay:

Yep. And she was all about the owls. Yeah. Yeah. She was.

Jenn:

So this is where we see how not fond of children. She actually hates children. And you actually come to see this because of Harry using the black quill. And those of you who who are readily familiar with it, this is where Harry uses a dab of his blood and starts writing must not tell lies, and it actually starts etching Almost basically a permanent scar into his hand. I mean, how sinister is that?

Jenn:

You're doing that to a child. Harry's what? 13?

Tay:

Yeah. He's not 18 yet

Jenn:

and 14? That's terrible. That's I can see why Stephen King said that. Yes. But she says,

Tay:

no way. What? I can say what? What?

Jenn:

And this is actually where you see how she's trying to more align herself with, Cornelius Fudge, where they don't actually want to teach defense against the dark arts. They want to just have this theory out there. And a lot of that is because they feared that Dumbledore was going to basically have his own students become his army, which, as you remember, that actually ends up happening. Because the kids are so frustrated with what's going on and they know the evilness that that is out there, that Harry ends up creating Dumbledore's army. Remember, that's where they go to the room requirement, and that's where he starts teaching them defensive spells.

Tay:

Right. McCoy said it absolutely perfect here is that, like, the way that she acted like a bitch but was acting proper as fuck, like Yeah. While she was doing this, like, makes everyone hate her just so much more. But Oh. As the actress, then go for it.

Jenn:

She hides behind it so well. Using those, like, peptoabysmal pinks, and she has all these kitty cat crap, and she's just like which

Tay:

is, like, stop it.

Jenn:

Oh god. I can't stand it.

Tay:

No.

Jenn:

Yeah. She she does. She she hides behind it. I mean, even her Patronus is a a cat. A little cutesy cat.

Jenn:

Like, I see you trying to hide behind stuff. Kittens and stuff. Mhmm.

Tay:

AD over here with

Jenn:

the master

Tay:

Oogway from Kung Fu Panda.

Jenn:

Master Oogway is very wise. Just saying. He is. He has some he has some of my favorite quotes to say. So, this is where she becomes the High Inquisitor of Hogwarts, or Hogwarts High Inquisitor, I think is what her title ended up being.

Jenn:

So this is where she uses her position to basically, like, harass, evaluate, or even fire any teachers, especially, if she sees that they have close ties to Dumbledore. And this made me remember a scene in the movie where she's trying to fire professor Trelawny. Yep. This breaks my heart because professor Trelawny, I mean, she's she has a prophetic ability, but probably not all the time. It just kinda like falls into her lap, and she goes into like this trance, if you guys kinda remember.

Jenn:

And or I think they showed it more in the books. So she actually is legit. She just can't do it all the time. So, I remember this is, the where a drum door kinda, like, stays back, but when he sees that she's trying to fire professor Trelati, he steps in. Like, can't

Tay:

And him and and McGonigal.

Jenn:

Yeah. That he can keep, you know, teachers there, because he is headmaster. Mhmm. But like, not long. But he still has that power.

Tay:

But Yeah.

Jenn:

Yeah. She's gonna elevate herself further. And this is where, Dumbledore ends up getting revenge on her in a sense. So now fast forward to where they're in the Forbidden Forest. You have Hermione and Harry there, and this is where the Centaurs show up.

Jenn:

Mhmm. Now I don't I don't think they make or point out this as much in the movies as they do the books, but Ferenses is one of the centaurs. He's actually one of the ones that ends up dragging her away. And this is here where you can see the big difference between my taste favorite, professor Snape, and her. So you can see how even though she has a wand and you see these centaurs I think it's the centaurs are coming at her, she hides behind the children.

Jenn:

She has a wand. She can cast spells. She can defend herself. But she hides behind Harry and Hermione. Now now look at, professor Snape in which movie is it?

Tay:

Prisoner of Azkaban number 3.

Jenn:

Secrets. Yeah. Thank you. And prisoner of Azkaban exactly where you're going with Snape. Yeah.

Jenn:

He he is standing in front of the children. Remus Lupin is turning into a werewolf. He stands in front of the children. He stands in front of Hermione. He stands in front of Harry, and he stands in front of Ron.

Jenn:

Remus Lupin is changing to a werewolf. He stands in front of them and protects them. He has no wand. Now granted, he probably could use some nonverbal magic, I'm sure, but he's not thinking about that. He's protecting the kids.

Tay:

Yeah. Because that's what he cares about.

Jenn:

And this

Tay:

That was

Jenn:

Yeah. And Yeah. He could be as crotchety as you want, but he actually generally cares for the children. Now this bitch over here, she's got a one, and she's like, oh, I'm gonna stand behind the children. I mean, she's horrible.

Jenn:

Absolutely horrible. Yep. Yeah. She's truly evil. Anyhow, now there is something I wanted to point out.

Jenn:

So that's really the last time that you see her in the movies. Now in the books, it's a wee bit different. K. There's a character in the books that doesn't really get mentioned a whole lot, and his name is Peeves. K?

Jenn:

He is a poltergeist that loves to terrorize people in Hogwarts. He probably may have taken a little bit away from the story because, you know, there's some things to consider when translating things from a book to a movie. Now Peeves, is that actually professor McGonagall, to let you know how high up it goes. She can't even stand Peeves. Like, he he annoys the hell out of her.

Jenn:

I mean, he's just some poltergeist. He he, like, causes trouble, like, gets into things. He's ridiculous. So she professor McGonagall actually tells him how to terrorize, professor Umbridge even more after she comes back. Because what happens is Dumbledore goes and rescues, professor Armbridge from frenzies and the the rest of the centaurs.

Jenn:

Now so what happens is is that, I think, professor Umbridge ends up starting, starting to leave, and Peeves basically chases her off. He chases her by he's hitting her with a stick in one hand and a sock full of chalk in the other, because I think she started getting into trouble with the way that, she, like, threw the kid basically threw the kids, like, at the centaurs and was, like, hiding behind them. So, yeah, she, peeps chased her off. And, actually, that was something that, he promised Fred and George that he would do was, like, chase her off the property. And then from there on out, I think you saw her for, like, Dumbledore's funeral, but you never saw her again.

Tay:

So you did see her with the horcrux around her neck. She was the one with the, whatever that necklace was, the little whispering necklace thing. You did see her with that. But then other than that, like, AD asked if, like, she was there when Baltimore rolled up. Like, I don't know.

Tay:

I don't think she that she was. The last time that you really did see her was when, you see the horcrux around her neck, and then they steal it off of her so that they can, like get rid of it. Now Rob said that he's the Nino Brown of the wizarding world now. I don't know who Nino Brown is.

Jenn:

Do you know

Tay:

who that is? You do. So no. No. You don't.

Tay:

Okay. Rob, I'm gonna need you to explain who Nina Brown is because, even McCoy said, fam,

Jenn:

after that. So

Tay:

I need educated. I need the information of, who this is. McCoy did say that she he he thinks that she did roll up with, Voldemort and them. Oh. But after then, she was taken for asking me for life.

Tay:

Okay. What is New Jack City? Is that a

Jenn:

I believe that's a movie. It's Smoothie.

Tay:

Okay. Okay. Cool. Cool. Cool.

Tay:

Cool. Cool. Yeah. They they said,

Jenn:

Yeah. Wesley Snipes. Wesley Snipes. Yeah.

Tay:

Okay. Thanks, EJ. Thanks for, for helping out with that because I showed up. I happen to know where that was going. Sit your 5 o

Jenn:

Oh my god. Willie's, like, January 6th, she was the one crashing the capital. I did see her there. She was she was in pink. I saw that, Willie.

Jenn:

You're right.

Tay:

Y'all. Sir. Stop it. Sir.

Jenn:

See, Willie's brains like me, they go to a dark place.

Tay:

Why the you know what? Okay. I okay. Okay.

Jenn:

Go dark. Go dark. So, yeah, she's the

Tay:

Janine O'Brien was the lead bad guy in the new Jack movie City movie. Okay. We've seen where he grabbed a girl and then hid behind people while they were shooting at it. Oh, what a bitch. So, yes, back to Harry Potter.

Tay:

Yes, McCoy. Thank you for, getting us back on track here.

Jenn:

That's terrible.

Tay:

That is yikes.

Jenn:

That's super Focus.

Tay:

Okay. So, to go back into Harry Potter, I'm gonna go into my next baddie. I decided to talk about Bartimus Barty Crouch Junior. Yeah. Now, Barty Crouch junior, now he was in the one where, that was number 4, and it was the Goblet of Fire.

Tay:

That you really see him. That's really the only one that you see him. Now you only see him for, like, a couple of seconds, but I thought that, like, his under meaning of, like, who he really was was really, pertinent, and I liked him as a villain. So I decided to cover him because I thought he was out of the blue, out of, like, something that nobody really talks about.

Jenn:

When he, didn't you see a little bit more of him during,

Tay:

I don't know

Jenn:

if there was a goblet of fire, but I think it was when Harry went back into the pen, Steve, and you can actually see, like, during one of the trials.

Tay:

Yeah. Yeah. That I think that was yeah. You saw him a

Jenn:

little bit more. But, yeah, I know what you mean. Yeah. Like Yeah.

Tay:

So you saw him at the beginning scene because he was there with the, wizarding cup thing, where they had, like, the the Ireland, team fighting against whatever the Victor Strom team, Russia, whatever they were representing.

Jenn:

Yamcha.

Tay:

Yep. That one. And, during that, scene where, like, everything burns down, then you see, like, the the signal in the in the sky with the, the the death eater, like, snake skull looking thing that everybody has, like, on their arm tattooed. So, anyway, that's where you really see him, for the first time, and then you do see him a little bit more throughout the movie. But for the majority of this movie, he is using Polyjuice potion, and we will get to that in a second.

Tay:

So he was born

Jenn:

do his Twitch?

Tay:

Am I what? Am I doing

Jenn:

To his Twitch. No. Yeah. Do you remember his Twitch where he's like Yeah. Yeah.

Jenn:

He's always like this. He's always like

Tay:

Yeah. Thank you. Yeah. That. I can't say that with that.

Tay:

That's all I got.

Jenn:

I just have, like, a

Tay:

little, like, tongue action going on over here. That's, AD says, oh, that guy tracking. Yeah. So he's kind of, like, off the beaten track, and people don't really talk about him, but I think that he should be talked about, just because he is a baddie. Not the little tongue action.

Tay:

Yes. The little tongue action that he's got going on. He's got 2. Talk about we're gonna talk about that in a second. So he was born in 1962, and then he died in 1996.

Tay:

So he was the son of Bartimaeus Crouch senior, who was, like, with Dumbledore, during the Goblet of Fire, for, like, the games or whatever. He attended Hogwarts in 1973 to 1980. His house is unknown. Pretty much like no one really knows what his house is. But if you're one of the people that just think all of the baddies go to Slytherin, then he's a Slytherin.

Tay:

So his father actually imprises him in Azkaban, due to his alliance with the Death Eaters. So he first escapes Azkaban, because his mom was, like, completely disheveled, because this is, like, their one son. They don't have any other kids. So his mom was like, not my son, and then decides to drink Paula Juice Potion, and takes his place in Azkaban. And that's how he escapes Azkaban.

Tay:

That's right. I forgot

Jenn:

they don't have that

Tay:

in the movie. No. They don't. That's only in the books. So, during this time, he actually uses Polyjuice Potion himself to disguise him as Mad Eye Moody.

Tay:

He is the one that is solely responsible for putting Harry, his name in the gauntlet of fire, which is how we see that scene of it, like, lighting on fire and, like, the piece of paper comes out after, like, all three names have been, like, named, and then Dumbledore is like, Harry Potter. How did you get your name in here? What did you do? AD said, yo. That's wild.

Tay:

The potion is o p if used correctly. This is true. This is wildly true, which we see with the 7 Harry's, later on. Which

Jenn:

if if you wanna point out, that Polyjuice, I think, you mentioned in a previous podcast, that actually takes a long time to brew. Mhmm. And the Polyjuice that he's using, Snape makes that.

Tay:

Yeah. And the only way to get why

Jenn:

it works so well.

Tay:

To get this Polyjuice Potion is from all of the things that are in Snape's cupboard. He actually ends up, like, going into Snape's cupboard because he says that, like, it's in Aurora's privilege or something like that. And that's how he gets all of these ingredients to make the apologies potion. So Snape's already like, this dude mad to us, and is, like, keeping an eye on him. He's mad to us.

Tay:

And then so he actually assisted Harry, through, the cup to get him to the end, which is really why he put Harry's name in the cup, and we'll talk about that in a second. So he's the one that actually told the guy that Robert Patterson played. What is that kid's name? Cedric Diggory. Thank you, honey.

Tay:

Alright. Cedric Diggory. He's

Jenn:

like I was like, Cullen? No. That's not

Tay:

No. That's Twilight. Right. So, Cedric Diggory was the one that actually ends up telling Harry how to, like, listen to yes. Thank you, Pablo, for, letting me know it is Cedric.

Tay:

So, he's the one that actually ends up telling Harry how to listen to, like, the egg, and you have to listen to it underwater, in Moaning Marshall's, like, weird bathtub scene. Bubble bath? Yeah. The bubble bath. So, yes, he is, Hufflepuff.

Tay:

Cedric is is a house Hufflepuff, but he dies. So does he really matter? But anyway JK, I'm just

Jenn:

How could you? How could you?

Tay:

You just threw so many spears at me with your eyeballs. How could you? Oh, yeah. Okay. Oh, McCoy, are you Slytherin?

Tay:

You you let me know because I don't remember about that poll if you actually were Slytherin or not. So anyway

Jenn:

Go ahead.

Tay:

No. No. You go ahead. I was gonna continue. Go.

Jenn:

It's there's actually a lot of people in the group that are Slytherin, and I think what gets people is being ambitious.

Tay:

Gang gang. AD actually is, Slytherin as well.

Jenn:

Having motivation and stuff for your goals, apparently, is a slithering quality. But

Tay:

you say gangrene. Like Gangrene. Like the like this ew. But, also, I don't know if you see it, but, like, I have, like, lights on in the back, and I have green going because we're doing villains. So we thought that was, like, pretty cool.

Tay:

We put, like, the little, lights on in the back

Jenn:

of it. Because, you know, if you're green, you're a Disney villain. This is true.

Tay:

You are looking for your glorious purpose if you will. My glorious purpose. Yes. So he's the one that actually assisted Harry in getting towards, like, the, towards the end. He actually ends up getting to the cup with Cedric and thank you, Willie.

Tay:

He, ends up, like, grabbing the cup with Cedric, and it's actually a time, like, portal thing. The like, it transfers them to to go to the graveyard scene. Right? And this is where they end up actually killing Cedric, And they needed Harry to be there to bring back Voldemort because they needed his blood. So that's the whole reason why Bartimus Crouch, Barty junior, put in his name into the cup, was to get into the end, to get into that portal so they can get his blood and resurrect Voldemort.

Tay:

And then you see him, Harry, eventually grab the cup again with, Cedric and transport him back, and then that's when you see my boy.

Jenn:

So I actually I have a question.

Tay:

Mhmm.

Jenn:

Who actually casted that spell? Whose name? I'm looking for a name.

Tay:

Cass, what's spelled?

Jenn:

What specifically do you need? Oh. To resurrect to resurrect Voldemort. So he says the blood of the servant, puts his blood over there, and then he says the blood of the enemy.

Tay:

Isn't it, fucking the rat dude?

Jenn:

Who knows? Who knows? Harry Potter, trust your knowledge. They're in the comments. Anyways

Tay:

Yeah. Why do they need his blood, though? Is it because Harry is a horcrux? He also said Peter Pegu.

Jenn:

Yes. Correct.

Tay:

Yeah. Peter Pegu. The rat dude that literally looks like that is also in, Sweeney Todd along with Snape. But, anyway, we digress. Yeah.

Tay:

Yeah.

Jenn:

Your wife's in Sweeney Todd.

Tay:

Yeah. So

Jenn:

I have not. I need to partake.

Tay:

Never seen Sweeney Todd?

Jenn:

Girl, no.

Tay:

Do you like music? Fix it.

Jenn:

They're okay. I grew up on Disney, so I'm not a

Tay:

Okay. Well, give it a shot. The rat dude. Yeah. That's that's me.

Tay:

That's how my brain works. Yes, CJ. You already know how my brain works. The rat dude. But yes.

Tay:

So Sweeney Todd not only has Helena Bowman Carter, but it also has Peter Pettigrew and, Severus Snape all in it, all 3 of them. So if you ever wanna see, Alan Rickman sing,

Jenn:

That's how

Tay:

you're gonna see it. Breast muscle. Beautiful man. What a beautiful human. Anyway, before I start, like, getting sad,

Jenn:

sorry.

Tay:

So how he actually dies is that, he receives a Dementor's kiss, which, actually, like, you don't know what the dementor's kiss is. It's actually when the dementor comes over and, like, sucks your soul out of your body.

Jenn:

There's lots of tongue action. Wow.

Tay:

Oh god. Too much. Too much. So a, a few skills that he actually has is he's, proficient in dueling defense against the dark arts, which is why he is the defense against the dark arts. And he does it so well as the, Mad Eye Moody is because he's actually very proficient in, that area.

Tay:

And he's also good at potions. But because of, if you guys haven't seen the last episode of, Harry Potter, Heroes, like the reason why Snape was never the defense against the dark arts position was because there was a curse on it that whoever took the position wouldn't last more than a year. So we kind of already knew that, like, he wasn't gonna last long. But, anyway, he is played by David Tennant, and I love David Tennant so much. David Tennant.

Tay:

I love him so much. The first time I ever saw David Tennant was actually Doctor Who. And he's actually, like, the doctor apparently right now. Like, they switched back to him being the doctor. So I've been, like, seeing, photos of that.

Tay:

So I might have to get back into doctor who. Now. No. Stop it, Siri. Sorry.

Tay:

Siri decided she wanted to listen. Who was

Jenn:

old buddy? Asked, who is

Tay:

old buddy? Like, he was good at defense oh, Gilroy Lockhart. Oh. That dude? Girl.

Jenn:

Yes. Houston, the, Chamber of Secrets.

Tay:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All

Jenn:

all, like, girls are, like, fawning over him, and he's such a such a fraud.

Tay:

Because his yeah. Because all of his movie or all of his

Jenn:

book were about fraud. Like,

Tay:

that man was the total Trump of wizards. Sir.

Jenn:

He's so full.

Tay:

Sir. Anyway, I have one great fun fact. Oh my god.

Jenn:

Sorry. I have one just

Tay:

fantastic fun fact about, David Tennant and his portrayal as, Bartimus Crouch. AD is in savage mode. Yes, McCoy. This is factual. Actual factual.

Tay:

So, there's actually 2. So David Tennant wasn't really, like, a part of the cast. So whenever he came to set, he actually, never felt like he belonged there. He just kinda felt like an outsider, which was, like, sad, but he didn't have, like, a huge role in the movie. So, like, he just he really wanted to be a part of it, and he got to be a part of it.

Tay:

So that was super dope. So that tongue action that we were doing earlier, the the little, you know, little little tongue action, that was actually improvised by David Tennant. Like, that was no books. That was 100% him on his own. I understand.

Tay:

Oh my god. Siri alright. I'm taking off my watch. Brood. So, like, Siri just go away.

Tay:

So, anyway, David Tennant, the amazing human being that he is, is great at improv, decided that that's what he was gonna do. I started actually watching Good Omens that he's actually into, and that's pretty good as well. But, anyway Oh. That's Barty Crotch Junior.

Jenn:

Don't get me started by Good Omens. Don't get me started by Good Omens, please. I love that show. I haven't watched the 2nd season, but first season, awesome.

Tay:

Okay. Awesome.

Jenn:

So the dementors kiss. Yes. So when you see them starting to, like, suck the soul out of people, Like, you remember when, you first get introduced to the Dementors and Harry and them are on the bus? Yeah. And they start, like, yeah.

Jenn:

And then, you know, Remus comes in and, like, saves them. Is that part

Tay:

Just trying.

Jenn:

Of it? Like, do they slowly, like, start sucking it out? That sounds so bad. Please don't take this in a weird way. This is so slow.

Jenn:

Never mind. It's going weird.

Tay:

Jen?

Jenn:

I did that that was unintentional. Okay? I'm so that's how it's

Tay:

I have no idea what the rest of this question is, and I can't take it seriously anymore.

Jenn:

Moving on. Okay. Anyways Okay. Just remember, if a dementia starts trying to suck your soul, eat some chocolate because chocolate has a happy hormone in it and stuff. Sorry.

Jenn:

That went to a weird place. But you remember, he gave Harry chocolate and he said chocolate helps. Yeah.

Tay:

Oh, yeah. I do remember

Jenn:

that now. That's that's why, like, a lot of people eat chocolate and they actually yeah. It's oxytocin something, and it helps. Anyway, sorry that went to a worse place. Anyways, that was supposed to be more educational.

Jenn:

But you saw that how it was kinda like drawing part of their, like, light source.

Tay:

Literally see, like, the little ball of the the orb, the ball of light.

Jenn:

So you see that. Yeah. Do you remember when Harry is at the lakeside

Tay:

Yeah.

Jenn:

And it actually started drawing it out of him? Wasn't it Harry?

Tay:

Yeah. No. This was in the first the prisoner of Azkaban.

Jenn:

It

Tay:

was either him or, Sirius Black that it was happening to. Right. It might have been Sirius Black because he saw what he thought was to be his father do the ex poketonopetronus, being

Jenn:

that guy. Right. Right. Right.

Tay:

And that's why, he thought it was his dad is because he was actually able to see that, but it actually was his Patronus charm, if you will. So yeah.

Jenn:

So it's kind of weirdly reminiscent of Ariel when she starts getting her voice taken.

Tay:

True.

Jenn:

That's what it kinda reminded me of Okay. A little bit when I watched it.

Tay:

Yeah.

Jenn:

Like, when she's

Tay:

Are you saying Ursula is a dementor?

Jenn:

She's a octopi dementor.

Tay:

Octi mentor.

Jenn:

She's an octi mentor. Mentor 8. She's a octi mentor. I liked it. So it's totally like that.

Jenn:

It's weird.

Tay:

Maybe he's saying that he likes that.

Jenn:

Alright. So on to my next baddie. I don't know if anybody liked this guy as a demintherpus.

Tay:

Oh, what? Oh, no. Oh, no. Yes. McCoy, it is a universe, multiverse alert, possibly, since we decided that we like to do those a lot, apparently, when we talked about monster versus aliens

Jenn:

Right.

Tay:

And the blob with the x men, villains, if you guys remember that. But yeah.

Jenn:

So it could it has some some some wind therapy book. Probably think of other movies where it kinda ties in, but that's kinda what

Tay:

I can't think of it.

Jenn:

Where my brain went when, you know,

Tay:

she was they

Jenn:

were, like, pulling his soul.

Tay:

Yeah. No. I mean, let that's that's awesome. Like, I totally didn't even think to, like, connect those 2. But now that you say it, I'm like, yeah.

Tay:

I can 100% see it.

Jenn:

Yeah. Like, that's when I saw it, I was like, oh, it's kinda like Ariel. But yeah. Anyway. Alright.

Jenn:

So my my next baddie I don't I don't know if anybody really, like, enjoyed his screen time as much as I did, but, Lucius Malfoy. So this is Draco Malfoy's dad, who had the amazing platinum blonde hair, In case you didn't know who I was talking about. Flawless blonde hair. Just saying. Wonder wonder if he uses blue shampoo to keep that nice and keep that yellow out of there.

Tay:

Is it blue or is it copper? No. Copper's for red. Yeah.

Jenn:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Tay:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Jenn:

You're right. Oh, no. It's purple because blue is for brunettes. So I I I I correct myself. So he uses purple shampoo.

Tay:

Okay. I used to be I used to have, like, streaky blonde. So I remember using one of them. So

Jenn:

Like some sort yeah. He definitely looks like Sephiroth, like, with way shorter hair. But, yeah, he definitely throws them, like, Sephiroth vibes. So I kinda wonder where some of, JK Rowling's, like, inspiration comes from some of her characters because they kind of, like, re remind me of things.

Tay:

We'll get into that later.

Jenn:

That icy blonde hair. Oh, okay. Sorry. Good episode. Oh, jeez.

Jenn:

So this is placed, played by, Jason Isaacs. Sure he's a a familiar face. So I didn't know this, but the Malfoys were part of the sacred 28. What's that, you ask?

Tay:

I was just about to ask. What is that?

Jenn:

Go ahead.

Tay:

Ask. When? Ask me. What is the sacred 28?

Jenn:

Oh, Tay. I'm so glad you asked. Well, they are the most prominent, pure blood wizarding families in Britain. And the malefoys in particular joined the, the death eaters because they shared the Malfoy's family view of, of the superiority of, pure blood wizards.

Tay:

Which is weird because we just talked about how Umbridge wanted, like, nothing to do with, like, half bloods, and half bloods went to the death eaters. So they had mixed blood?

Jenn:

I don't I don't think she actually had a mark. Somebody check me, but I don't think Umbridge actually had a mark. Oh, like the death date? No.

Tay:

She didn't she didn't have one.

Jenn:

So Lucius Malfoy did. And the reason why he ended up aligning himself with with Voldemort is basically what I said is that he liked his views on the pure blooded wizards.

Tay:

Mhmm.

Jenn:

And he actually ended up be becoming Voldemort's 2nd in command during the, the first wizarding war. Now this is a war that, Dumbledore and, like, Harry's parents, Longbottom's parents, that that this is the first Wizarding War that they all fought. So he was his first his, or second in command, basically.

Tay:

Mhmm.

Jenn:

Now he kinda lost his edge, and our dearest Bellatrix L'Estrange took his role. And the second one was running more, so that's so that's the one. Yeah. Say what? So she took that over because he just kinda lost his edge.

Tay:

Mhmm.

Jenn:

He he had these these talents of, like, coercion and torture and murder, And that's how he kinda caught the eye of Voldemort to begin with. What do you mean

Tay:

by talons? Like, his fingers or, like, like, in coercive. Okay. Okay.

Jenn:

Yeah. Just being coercive, like, just being very manipulative. And, of course, his family had a lot of money. What are the eyeballs for, Willie? I see you over there.

Tay:

Those eyeballs were for when we, talked about how we were gonna talk about other things later.

Jenn:

Oh. We'll talk about it later. Don't worry. Don't worry. It's fine.

Jenn:

Yeah. So as far as his, like, him being manipulative, it actually got him out of being imprisoned in Azkaban. So he lied and said that he was under the imperious curse. Now if you're not familiar with the imperious curse, that's the one where you're being controlled. You saw that in the Goblet of Fire when you see some of the other, contestants.

Jenn:

Their eyes are, like, kinda milky, kind of glazed over. That's what the imperious curse looks like. So he said that he was under the imperious curse. So he got out of going to Azkaban. And he he he also bribed.

Jenn:

He had this campaign of, like, bribing and blackmail and flattery to win his freedom. And his biggest thing was, from all my research, was to keep his social standing. He didn't want to tarnish the Malfoy family name. He had a a glorious glorious purpose no. Glorious family name, and he did not want that to be don't choke in your drink.

Jenn:

I'm sorry.

Tay:

Thank you.

Jenn:

Had to throw that in there. I saw it. You're welcome. Now I remember when, Malfoy, like first, Draco Malfoy first introduced himself to Harry. And he was pretty cut off that Harry, like, ended up wanting to be friends with Ron.

Jenn:

And it actually said that, Luce told him, like, basically, like, don't make a big deal about it. Like, you know, we got to worry about our family name. Like, don't sit there and, like, say mean and nasty things about Harry. Like, he was always really, like, hyper focused on, like, keeping the reputation up.

Tay:

Okay.

Jenn:

Keeping the, you know, the family name up. But he actually, was hoping that the reason why Harry defeated Voldemort is because he Harry was actually a dark wizard too. He was actually thinking that, you know, if he could get into Harry's good graces, that he could have a second chance of, like, world domination, I guess. Okay. Getting, you know, the pure bloods taking over and, you know, becoming the dominant world power.

Jenn:

Oh, au contraire. Au contraire. So So anyways, long story short, he didn't want, Draco to be, like, openly hostile towards towards Harry. Something that I didn't know. So you remember in the second movie where you ended up finding out that Lucius Malfoy was the one that slipped Tom Riddle's diary into Jenny's bag.

Tay:

Right.

Jenn:

Well, the reason behind it was Arthur

Tay:

Weasley,

Jenn:

started conducting these raids under the Muggle Protection Act, so MPA, was trying to gather, all of these, like, dark and illegally enchanted objects. And, of course, Malfoy, having a lot of wealth, he had a lot of these things. So he quickly started trying to sell them off. And one of the places that he went to was Borgen and Birx, and that's where they were at buying their books and cauldrons and all sorts of, like, you know, school stuff that you would need. It's like Target, not Walmart because they had good quality stuff there.

Jenn:

Wow.

Tay:

Not that great value.

Jenn:

So it's fire.

Tay:

Got it. No. Not

Jenn:

that great value. They had the up and up they had the up and up stuff there. I'm just saying. So, this is where he slipped that diary into Ginny's bag, and the reason was because of Arthur Weasley and the things that he was doing under the Moggill Protection Act. So it's kinda like a a dig at him, trying to kinda get him back.

Jenn:

So fast forward, Voldemort returns. I know I'm kind of jumping quite ahead in time. But this is where you see that, he starts serving as the death eater again, but you can automatically feel like things are not the same. Mhmm. Like and after, Lucius is actually imprisoned after fighting in the ministry of magic, Do you guys remember from, the order of the phoenix, I think, is where this happens?

Tay:

Maybe. Yeah.

Jenn:

Yeah. It says 4 is a goblet of fire, then 5 is when they the order of the phoenix where they're going after the prophecy. So you see that, Lucius is actually imprisoned after this. And the next time that we see him, his he looks so different. He's not using his purple shampoos, or his hair is looking a little yellow.

Jenn:

His eyes are looking a little sunken. He's looking kinda gray and everything. He's not using, you know, his night cream anymore. And quite possibly, like, he's being very, tortured by the dementors. Because I think that's one of the things that, I don't think they said a lot about Azkaban.

Jenn:

Sorry. Is that, the dementors do you know, they go after you while you're in the prison. You know? They they torture you. They you know?

Jenn:

I'm sure they're coming by just feeling like, oh, hey. How's it going? They're just, like like, you know, sucking off some of your life force. And you're like, no. Stop.

Tay:

I don't have any problems.

Jenn:

You're frozen.

Tay:

Sorry. Oh my god.

Jenn:

It happens. Anyways, moving on. So, Voldemort broke them out, not too long after. I'm not even sure if they were in there a year. And when, Malfoy was not able to, kill Dumbledore, I think, is where their downhole slide kind of, like, declined even faster because he started treating them badly.

Jenn:

Mhmm. He started mistreating them. He even, like, told Lucius, like, hey. Give me your wand, which he ended up, like, having destroyed. And he just didn't hold him in a lot of, like, high regard, which actually played into Dumbledore's plans because because Snape killed him.

Jenn:

He was kind of like a co captain, if you will, with Bellatrix being in command.

Tay:

Mhmm.

Jenn:

He earned that honor because he actually killed Dumbledore. So Yep. And then

Tay:

move his alliance.

Jenn:

Right. Which, you know, Dumbledore is right. You know, if you kill me, then, you know, you save save Draco, but, you know, you kinda move up kinda higher in the echelons there.

Tay:

You save more than just your life.

Jenn:

Exactly. Exactly. Yeah. So, and then at the very end, you see them, during the battle of Hogwarts, and you you see that Lucius and Narcissa are more way more concerned with Draco's safety than, you know, anything that Voldemort, like, had planned or, you know, now or in the future. Mhmm.

Jenn:

And, they ended up having their crimes forgiven for two reasons. 1, because Narcissa lied. Right? She knew Harry was alive. Mhmm.

Jenn:

I'm sorry. I don't I don't care how many times I watch that scene.

Tay:

You knew that Yeah. Yeah. She knew that yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Tay:

I know what you mean now. Yeah. Yeah.

Jenn:

Yeah. Like, she knew Harry was alive, and she just kinda leans in and says, is he alive? And when Harry kind of nods, which I don't care how many times I've seen that scene. It still gives me chills. I'm just like, oh.

Jenn:

And then that saves that saves Harry. Gives him time to to rally. Right? Time to rally with his friends and and everything. And then, the other thing that saves him from being imprisoned and basically forgiven of their crimes is that they left.

Jenn:

As soon as they got Draco, Lucius and Draco and Narcissa, they left. Yeah. Yep. So that's my my final villain. I wanna go over.

Jenn:

Thank you. Thank you.

Tay:

Yeah. And if you guys aren't tracking the scene that Jen is talking about, where she leans over to ask Harry, is he alive? That's in, the Deathly Hallows part 2. This is the scene where, like, Voldemort kills Harry, but kills the Horcrux side of him. And, she's like, oh, yep.

Tay:

He's dead, because Voldemort had her go over to see if that he was actually, like, dead or alive,

Jenn:

Which we know

Tay:

know what

Jenn:

we're talking about. From Zombieland, if you're not sure, you should always double tap. I'm sure that's rule number 2. Double we'll tap.

Tay:

Because rule number 1 is don't talk about Fight Club.

Jenn:

Exactly. Number 2, get a

Tay:

little hat. There you go. Alright. So, to, close out our show, we're gonna do our final shots and thoughts of being What? Yes.
